sequin detail

tunic: melrose ave. // sandals: urban outfitters // agate bracelet: kukuly in downtown LA

photography: nik sarac

one of my favorite activities is to wander off to melrose ave and visit a few of my favorite shops. to be frank, i have no idea what any of the store names are. i can map them out for you based on how far down they are from bulan, an amazing vegan/vegetarian thai restaurant.

the best part about melrose is that all the shops buy from the same downtown vendor and sell the same merchandise all at the same time, with minimal variations. this is a shopper's dream (or maybe just mine) because every store needs to price competitively. i picked up this tunic months ago and forgot about it. glad i rediscovered it. it's asymmetrical with cut out shoulders and sequin detail. a lot going on. so not much more required. it's very lightweight and comfortable.

one teaspoon just isn't enough

one teaspoon heaven.

i can't wait for these to get in... by the way, fyi, they're from austrailia and their sizing is obviously different from normal american sizing. their size 8 is about a us 4.

denim cut off perfection.

sweater leggings

top: romwe // cardigan: american apparel // shoes: steve madden // sweater leggings: random store

photography: nik sarac

i've never worn sweater leggings before but i must say they were like sweatpants with a snugger fit. same rule applies; leggings are not PANTS. h&m has some pretty great colors though i've never actually tried theirs.

holiday shopped a smidge yesterday after work and picked up 2 dresses for my january vegas trip as well as these incredible shoes that inspire the "which corner are you working?"
see them here. the choice between black and blush was painful.

have a happy happy holiday!

rainy in LA

shorts: vintage levis // sweater: H&M // parka: urban outfitters // shoes: jeffrey campbell spike lita

photography: nik sarac

a couple days ago, it rained in LA and being the constantly unprepared for the weather girl that i am, i wore shorts. my fancy studded vintage levis that i picked up on melrose. i don't recall the name of the store but i can tell you where it's located. living half a mile from melrose's shopping mecca has consequently turned me into an accidental tour guide of the area.

anyhow, with the year coming to a fold, i feel it is appropriate to revamp my wardrobe just a smidge. it's no secret that girls, myself included, are always trying to lose weight. i am however pleased to announce i've lost 17lbs this year. most of which in these past 2 months. therefore, things haven't been fitting me properly these days. reward? shopppppping.

first in:

ok fine. my shoes still fit perfectly. but these were on SALE at nasty gal! plus i walked 6 miles down the vegas strip and survived in the black versions. necessities.

also picked up a few more things including a style stalker sugar daddy dress, shoemint edith pumps, unif velvet corset shorts, dolce vita pumps, a skull clutch, and blank nyc jeans. bring on the new year. i'm ready.

motel dress and boyfriend blazer

dress: motel
boyfriend blazer: urban outfitters
booties: sam edelman "zoyla"

hope everyone had a successfully fattening thanksgiving. the above photos were taken sometime the week before thanksgiving. my mild obsession with blazers is beginning to manifest. this weekend alone, i bought a white blazer and a silver blazer.

i now successfully own 3 black ones, a white one, a hot pink one, a beige one, a beige with black collars one, a bright blue one, and a silver one... they're classics right? wardrobe stables? where can i find a sequined one?! oh and my kate spade case came! iphone is effectively pimped out.

here are a few snapshots from my past weekend:

christmas tree outside the antelope valley mall. i love the holidays. :)

this is my grandma. mom's mom. isn't she the cutest?

came home to my diplomas professionally mounted. thanks momma :)

3 generations of strength.

my few flats from forever 21. after walking into pretty much everything, every stud still happily in place. successful sixteen dollars spent.

and finally, happy 6 months! <3

ethnic print obsession

ipad cas: pendelton (nik has the matching one)
top: vintage
skirt: angl
backpack: urban outfitters
sandals: sam edelman
jewelry: chan luu, soixante neuf
scarf: chan luu

so i'm more than obsessed with ethnic prints. like way. overload makes me happy.

my backpack looks like:

there's something about the bright colors and crazy prints that really captivates me. that and i look uber cultured when i carry something with a rad print.

tomorrow i have a seminar with larry fink and bill gross at the beverly hilton with my boss. outfit? something that covers everything. i'm debating heels because i don't particularly like to stick out like a sore thumb in these kinds of gatherings. blending is my main focus. what a crisis.
