i'm so excited to share my favorite pair of shorts this summer. no joke. i wore them to disneyland and fell in love with them! they're incredibly comfortable and after the first wear, they form to fit your body but in a perfect loose boyfriend way. i guess that didn't make all too much sense but essentially, they're the perfect boyfriend shorts! the company that makes them, zen vintage, is currently sold in specialty boutiques in socal. i'll keep you posted when you can get a pair for yourself.

can't say i wouldn't sacrifice a few good meals to me back to this poolside. that's saying a WHOLE lot. and it's not just about the pool. it's about the whole vibe of that whole weekend.

i have more bikinis than any human needs and yet i'm still always searching for that one with that extra something special. mara hoffman has done a fantastic job of wooing me.

it's finally that time where i can waltz out at night without a jacket. that's my kind of temperature.

my bauble bar monogram finally arrived! 5 weeks of [semi] patience payed off. the much girlier version of the dogtag. though monograms are odd in the sense that you have to have a middle name and your last initial goes in the center. so my initials look like JLM. see? odd.

i think i'm finally breaking out of the "i just came from a funeral" syndrome and playing more with color. i'm waiting for the sun to do its damage on my skin so that these bright colors will look much better on me. disclaimer: i do not promote cancer. just saying. if you need a good suncreen, try burn out. shameless promotion for my favorite sunscreen. yep.

the orange lace is a great update from my uniform of cream lace. and this orange in particular was ideal in that it did not damage my already failing eyesight. #winning.

one of my favorite activities is to wander off to melrose ave and visit a few of my favorite shops. to be frank, i have no idea what any of the store names are. i can map them out for you based on how far down they are from bulan, an amazing vegan/vegetarian thai restaurant.

the best part about melrose is that all the shops buy from the same downtown vendor and sell the same merchandise all at the same time, with minimal variations. this is a shopper's dream (or maybe just mine) because every store needs to price competitively. i picked up this tunic months ago and forgot about it. glad i rediscovered it. it's asymmetrical with cut out shoulders and sequin detail. a lot going on. so not much more required. it's very lightweight and comfortable.

i finally created a bloglovin account. found a bunch of new blogs that i definitely want to read. i'm really obsessed with rumi, jules, kelly, and aimee.

this weekend's plans? brandy melville's garage sale and a possible moseying of 3rd street promenade... might as well make the most of my trip. this weekend i'm going to work on my ebay store and picture and post a bunch of clothes i want to sell.

i finally got my dmitri james (skinn) make up today. i really like it! i'm more of a dewy skin person but this matte make up actually proves to make me look a lot less oily. shocking.

not even going to pretend i wasn't a victim of fashiontoast's advertising.

this past weekend, i went to south coast plaza for the first time and was more than impressed. i wanted to touch everything. the unfortunate aspect was i was very saddened as i walked out of balenciaga with no shopping bags. fortunately, this makes me want to work harder so that one day, spending $3,000 on an accessory isn't much of a setback if at all.

nonetheless, i did get 3 bags from henri bendel and 5 new free people pieces. 1 pair of dolce vita sandals. 1 matthew williamson for macy's sweater (as seen here).

my post shopping excursion to melrose only resulted in about a dozen new pieces to play with as well as a vintage chanel bag that albeit is tiny, but MINE :) thank you to wasteland for making this possible. hopefully the first of many!

also... ran into emma watson at <3 Melrose, a boutique i adore though it has rather gaudy decor. she was beyond sweet and absolutely loved the chan luu wrap bracelet i tore off my wrist for her. glad she's so down-to-earth. i'm done shaking now.
