i've been especially pensive and musical today. currently obsessing over a fine frenzy's almost lover. pretty much the mood of this shoot.

leave it to stylestalker to change my mind about butterflies. my dislike has lessened, but only slightly. i mean how can you hate a pair of perfectly suedette butterfly skinnies? especially when you score them at a sample sale for $20. exactly.

i normally don't make it out to the americana since the grove is down the street from my apartment. also because i can't stand glendale. but i will say the americana may just be worth the venture.

nik and i enjoyed olive oil and balsamic vinegar samplings (that sounds fancy), dinner at the cheesecake factory, and a strip show at pacific theatres. better known as magic mike i guess.

just got back from a much needed vacation to vegas… back to work tomorrow! just wanted to do a quick post so it didn't look like i'm neglecting my blog. sorry - it's been a whirlwind of a week and i'm still trying to regroup!

in the meantime, how amazing is my peruvian vest? it was handmade from a vintage coca cola denim jacket with peruvian fabrics and then hand studded. i know. awesome.

the fit and studs totally give me a 90s vibe that i clearly have a fondness for. despite the fact that my entire recollection of the 90s consists of power rangers and gushers.

stars and fireworks

family traditions mean so much to me and one of my favorites is watching 4th of july fireworks with my family every year at the warner center.

camping out with our picnic chairs, buying desserts with my dad and sister while my mom and aunt man the campgrounds, the countdown to the first firework… too perfect.
