i'm not usually a fan of birthdays because i get older and not always that much wiser. but, who doesn't like beautiful birthday presents?

nik generously got me the YSL arty ring which i've wanted for a year now! i'm so thankful and excited to wear it. i love the creativity of the peace. it's appropriately named the arty ring. the photographs don't serve the flecks of gold in the blue stone justice. the blue is versatile all year round. ideal.

they've now come out with gunmetal settings but i'm always a fan of classic gold. it conveniently compliments my birthday gift to myself... pictures of that to come.

momma's 47th birthday.
she's my everything. we've been through a pretty rough patch and frankly, it made me closer to her than ever. no one gets me like the does and no one understands her every move like i do. we're truly joint. i want to give her the world but for now, all i can be is the best daughter i know how to be and hopefully one day, i'll grow up to be as responsible, reliable, and respectable as she is. <3

ps, you can get the above sweater at LF. also, those jeffrey campbells were showstoppers this weekend in vegas. people kept trying to sneakily take photos of my shoes. hopefully it was out of like and not repulsion.

i met this lady who designs for free people, anthropologie, and bloomingdales this past DTLA artwalk. her pieces were gorgeous. very ornate and not for the light of heart but the detail and complexity is definitely apparent. each piece had some kind of vintage component which made it one-of-a-kind, my favorite kind of jewelry! i'm mildly obsessed with handmade jewelry. i just think it means so much more than forever 21 - made with some kind of 9 year old's indentured slavery on some sort of machinery in some impoverished nation.

finally trying that one sushi place in westwood tonight. yamato i think...

working on selling more clothes on ebay tonight.

finals are in full effect. current fave accessory - the gimungo bags under my eyes. i tell ya, it's hardcore shizz.

yesterday was a beautiful LA day. my shorts have missed you mr. sun. spring summer... i live in shorts and skirts and dresses.

does anyone else remember lipstick jungle? it was cancelled a few years ago but it was from the writers of sex and the city, a show i still have yet to see an episode of... i found season 1 on dvd of lipstick jungle and watching it brings back memories of FIDM circa 2008. i was barely legal ;) jk. but really. i miss those days when life was a lot more carefree though i wouldn't trade it for my financial capabilities at this point. 7-11 hot dogs versus katsuya? the latter. my wardrobe has seen a major upturn.
