diner-saur park

top: american apparel // skirt: angl // shoes: converse // headband: handmade

photography: nik sarac

i'm very convinced that peggy sue's diner-saur park is a crime scene hot spot. there is the most eclectic hodgepodge of random. ducks. a murky pond. strange statues in the form of death. a stage with a broken light. yeah. what's the CSI hotline?

threw together an outfit and naturally i liked it better than most things i wear. felt very free people inspired. i got the headband off a little cart at the mall and it turns out the girl handmakes all of her goods. #sweet.

peace of mind

dress: show me your mumu // shoes: converse // sunnies: juicy couture

photography: nik sarac

it my attempt to be more grown up, i have made a serious effort to look on the brighter side of situations that appear quite unfavorable. and because of that, i've found myself a much happier person. it takes far too much energy to dwell and quite frankly, i do genuinely believe all things happen for a reason.

i love love love how these photos turned out. it really epitomizes how i've been feeling lately. i spent a great deal of time tormented and now i feel like i've truly found peace of mind. nik took these beautiful photos for me on our brief road trip. my sister grilled me over buying this dress to make sure that i'd make the most of it. i really think wearing it 3 days in a row proves how much i really love it. sanitation was clearly not a concern.

good thing i don't sweat profusely.

unexpected pairing

leopard top: cotton on // vest: LF // jeans: gap // sneakers: converse

photography: nik sarac

woke up late one morning and grabbed random items in my closet that actually turned out to be a pretty awesome pairing. i really like the sheer leopard blouse with the cut off denim vest thrown over. just the right amount of edgy.

possibly had one of the best weekends of the year. spent all day saturday with nik on a more than welcome, unexpected adventure. i have a huge fondness for road trips now since my first one ever was perfect. good company. good vibes. and to top it off, i finally visited the melrose flea market with my big sister. like i said, best weekend of the year so far.

black and white zebras

sweater: urban outfitters // jeans: armani exchange // jacket: american eagle // bag: henri bendel // sneakers: DIY converse

black and white. how could you go wrong?

really wishing this sweater was a bit thicker though. not really sure you can even call it a sweater given how thin it is.

button downs & sweaters

button down: forever 21 // sweater: LNA // jeans (similar): armani exchange // shoes: DIY studded converse // bag: rebecca minkoff

this past weekend was spent mostly at disneyland with marc. my goodness was that exhausting but so incredibly fun! now i really really want to get an annual pass to disneyland! ahh that would be unreal. and of course, not that socal select one. like the premium no blackout dates one! pictures tomorrow as i cornily enough want to post it on valentine's day.

i've been really liking the button down under a sweater thing. this makes me feel preppy which is not me at all. doesn't help that i picked up a striped fitted sweater at abercrombie this weekend... and a rugby cardigan.

and RIP to one of my singing idols, whitney houston. <3
if you never listen to her, shame on you. now click here to make up for it.
my favorite whitney song ever:

her voice literally gives me goosebumps. i will never forget loving the day i mastered "the greatest love of all" for my piano recital.

karmaloop contest

shoes: converse c/o karmaloop DIY studs // tank: LF // button down & jacket: forever 21 // jeans: blank NYC c/o karmaloop // bag: henri bendel

photography: nik sarac

today was definitely a "i have nothing to wear in this sea of clothing" day. therefore i threw on the simplest of pieces which always creates an effortless look. black skinny jeans, chucks, white tank, black jacket. done and done.

and of course, my giant bag that is more or less a carry-on. i've wanted this since my obsession with henri bendel began in 2009 after becoming more than in love with gossip girl. my bag collection now spans 10 bags. oh yes.

also, i know this is super late but i would truly appreciate your help if you could please vote for me in karmaloop's ikon contest. you can vote here once every 24 hours. thanks so much in advance!

lots o' layers

parka: urban outfitters // jacket: splendid // tank: brandy melville // leggings: h&m // sneakers: jack purcell converse // scarf: chan luu

photography: nik sarac

i fell incredibly ill tuesday night and after much deliberation, i opted out of my company holiday trip to disneyland. flu + chills + achey = giant fail.

instead, i spent the day being nursed back to health meticulously by the boyf who not only spoonfed me but also took it upon himself to time my tylenol intake. he probably doesn't know this but i am entirely against anti-biotics. i never take pills. something about ancient chinese healing rituals i guess. thanks to his persistence, i took, i conquered.

the weather has been relatively chilly for me and layers have become my safe haven. lots of them. that parka was probably the best $15 i ever spent at urban. i have to fight my sister for my OWN jacket. at least we're generating a low cost per wear.

& cheers to the freaking weekend

kat showcased her lomas line. i loved everything! i ended up getting a white feathered necklace that i've already worn 4 times!

post flea market lunch in japantown with nik. my official photographer in case i don't mention it enough. also the best friend.

last sunday, nik & i ventured to the pasadena flea market to support kitty kat. she showcased her lomas line, named after her mom's maiden name which i must admit is crafty. no offense to my mom but people would definitely struggle attempting to pronounce my mom's maiden name so maybe not the best name for my jewelry line.

anyways, after seeing kat and going to the art walk last thursday and basking in so much creativity, i spent this entire weekend gathering more materials and making a jewelry. i was so incredibly inspired. i have big plans for my new jewelry collection but i'm not ready to share the details.

have a lovely week!
