oversized chunky sweaters

sweater: random boutique at the topanga mall
shorts: forever 21
shoes: michael kors
bag: balenciaga

there's nothing better than an oversized chunky sweater, (maybe second only to perfectly distressed cut offs). part of the reason why fall fashion is my favorite.

i usually buy sweaters in size large to really get the right effect. i have a mild aversion to fitted sweaters. probably because i look like a sausage link in them but i'm pretty confident most people look like sausage links in them. unless your name is bambi or abbey and you are nothing more than a human shaped sack of skin and bones, fitted sweaters are not very flattering. there are exceptions to be fashionably correct, but very few.

i would provide visuals of heinous fitted sweaters but that might be cruel. google "fitted sweaters" and you'll see the point.

oh and i've been wanting faux leather shorts in tan for a while now and i finally get the original pair i found at forever 21.

plaid cape coat

coat: lf
skirt: express
top: romwe
shoes: steve madden

i got this coat at LF's last year's end of fall sale which conveniently fell into spring directly thereafter. and living in LA, there really isn't a need for a sherpa lined plaid coat to begin with so i had to store it away until now. although the fit is a bit boxy and gives me a very top heavy illusion (i hope), i am still pretty obsessed with the design.

right now LF has some really amazing looks. here are a few of my favorites:

urban outfitters: home

the room that i currently have in my apartment that i share with my sister is probably the closest to the theme that i'd love my room to have in general. when i moved out to LA for college, i literally went to target and bought the cheapest thing that served the purpose i needed. thus, my room was filled with heinous bright green plastic rolling drawers and even worse, clear plastic rolling cabinets. today, i'm a bit more able to save up and buy what i really like for my room.

i love ethereal, woodsy, and boho. but i also love simple and clean. mostly light colors. (i tried the black and white scheme and it made me feel blah) oh and i like animal accents. i have a giant cardboard moosehead in my room. and i'm attracted to almost anything from urban and anthro. oh and pillows. i LOVE pillows. why are they so randomly expensive? also, candles. the pretty ones that transform the aroma of their surroundings. mmm. voluspa makes my favorite right now.

i'm on a mission to redo my living room. it's a hodgepodge right now because we don't have a lot of time to really put it together. i'm working on that...

michelin sweater

after realizing how high school portraits the tree accessory was...

genuine smiles

sweater: forever 21
jeans: forever 21
shoes: dv by dolce vita
bag: balenciaga

this sweater was so good in theory until i wore it for a full day. i felt like the michelin man. starting to think the whole chunky sweater thing does just that... makes me chunky. though i try to live by, "fashion knows not of comfort," this day was more or less "comfort knows not of fashion." sad. sadder that i still like this sweater. i guess i just have to slim down 15 more lbs to get it to fit like a chunky oversized fit. bye bye honey bbq cheetos and ice blended chais.
