literally every which way i turn my head, i see a new destroyed/distressed denim shorts company sprouting up. one of my all time faves is one teaspoon of course. runway dreamz is a newer brand that also has caught my attention with their incredible attention-to-detail-studding.

these came from a seller based solely on instagram/tumblr. and everyone knows, i support small business. pretty true. also my go-to excuse to buy just about everything i find from a small vendor.

a tiny skull necklace that sits perfectly between my collar bones. paperface studio was kind enough to send me this piece. they specialize in dainty which is something i could use a lot more of. sometimes, it really is the little things.

made my first wish at the japanese wishing tree. so far, my wishes are coming true in a surprising manner.

saw this image circulating tumblr and it inspired me to go a little tie dye. also feel pretty inspired to make my own dress with a huge square of fabric. i have to have at least one friend from fashion design that can sew it together for me... any takers? if not, i'll just have to staple it together. ok fine i'm not that tragic but i must confess, i've never used a sewing machine in my life.

meant to wear this dress in vegas but the reality of the situation was, i spent more than half the trip in my pussycat dolls booty shorts. comfort apparently, was key. i really didn't want to waste this dress as i don't see another occasion to be fancy anytime soon. and let's face it, by then i'll probably want a new dress anyways.

plaid over the sequins and a more rugged "leather" jacket turned the dress from night to day. done and done.

ps... photos + modeling was an epic fail for this shoot. nik and i were suffering from our raw diet/cleanse. inability to focus and angle properly were very evident when going through the shots.

still not new photos... sorry! i'm very bad about remembering my flash drives. and i even got an adorable hello kitty one in a panda costume too! so sad. and no i'm not obsessed with hello kitty. just some things hello kitty are tolerable.

i recently found these blush colored high waisted shorts that i can wear under sweater tunics and sheer dresses. definitely worth the whopping $9.99 i paid for them.

my throat is starting to flame up. i hope it's not my annual laryngitis. :(

happy birthday to my idol

momma's 47th birthday.
she's my everything. we've been through a pretty rough patch and frankly, it made me closer to her than ever. no one gets me like the does and no one understands her every move like i do. we're truly joint. i want to give her the world but for now, all i can be is the best daughter i know how to be and hopefully one day, i'll grow up to be as responsible, reliable, and respectable as she is. <3

lots o' layers

i fell incredibly ill tuesday night and after much deliberation, i opted out of my company holiday trip to disneyland. flu + chills + achey = giant fail.

instead, i spent the day being nursed back to health meticulously by the boyf who not only spoonfed me but also took it upon himself to time my tylenol intake. he probably doesn't know this but i am entirely against anti-biotics. i never take pills. something about ancient chinese healing rituals i guess. thanks to his persistence, i took, i conquered.

the weather has been relatively chilly for me and layers have become my safe haven. lots of them. that parka was probably the best $15 i ever spent at urban. i have to fight my sister for my OWN jacket. at least we're generating a low cost per wear.
